PADI Search and Rescue Specialty Course in Grand Cayman

No matter how careful people are, accidents can always happen on a dive boat, and in some cases, this results in a dropped item falling into the water. But the next time this happens on one of your adventures, you can be the hero who finds the missing object! The PADI Search and Recovery course teaches you how to find lost items underwater.

Under the guidance of Sunset Divers at Sunset House, you’ll practice different types of underwater search patterns and learn how to use a lift bag as you plan and execute mock search operations. These new skills will significantly increase your chances of retrieving items large and small.

During the four dives on this PADI Search and Rescue Specialty course in Grand Cayman, you will learn how to:

• Swim search patterns using natural navigation and a compass.
• Locate objects large and small using several search patterns.
• Use a lift bag for heavy or large objects, plus other recovery methods.
• Plan a search operation based on facts gathered about a lost object before the dive.

To qualify for this course, you must be at least 12 years old and be Advance Open Water certified.
