Are you planning your trip to Grand Cayman? You probably don’t need us to tell you how exciting it is! But you may have already realized that deciding where to stay can feel overwhelming.
If you’ve settled on Sunset House, you’re already in a great position! Known as a hotel for divers, by divers, our ocean-side property combines comfortable accommodation options with direct access to some of our island’s best underwater experiences.
The good news is that there isn’t a single “best” room at Sunset House. The right choice depends entirely on the type of vacation you’re planning. Whether you’re traveling as a couple, visiting with family, staying for an extended dive trip, or simply looking for a comfortable base near George Town, this Sunset House rooms guide will help you choose the option that suits you best.

Why Stay at Sunset House in Grand Cayman?
When people search for the best hotels in Grand Cayman, they often focus on beachfront locations or luxury amenities. Sunset House offers something different: an authentic Cayman experience centered around the ocean.
Located just south of George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands, our resort sits directly on the waterfront with immediate access to Sunset Reef, one of the Caribbean’s most celebrated shore dives. Guests can take advantage of our on-site dive shop (Sunset Divers), waterfront dining at My Bar and SeaHarvest Restaurant, and easy access to attractions such as Smith Cove and George Town.
Speaking of these last two destinations, we have partnered with Islandluxe Concierge Services to offer a free shuttle service to Bayshore Mall in George Town. Departing at 2:00 PM, the vehicle stops at Smith’s Cove before continuing into George Town. The return shuttle departs George Town at 4:15 PM. You can find out all the information you need at our front desk.
Our property’s combination of comfort, convenience, and diving expertise makes Sunset House one of the most distinctive dive resort accommodations in Grand Cayman. But what room options do we have available?

Ocean View Apartments at Sunset House: Ideal for Families and Longer Stays
If you’re planning an extended vacation or traveling with family, our Ocean View Apartments offer the most space and flexibility. We have two different studio-style apartments, each with different bedroom configurations.
These accommodations feature a bedroom, a living area, full kitchen facilities, and a private patio or balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea. However, given the studio-like layout, the bedroom isn’t its own separate room with a door, but rather an area off the living room with an open entrance.
This extra space makes a noticeable difference if you’re staying for more than a few days or traveling with others. The kitchen allows guests to prepare breakfasts, snacks, or simple meals between activities, while the living space provides somewhere to relax after a day spent diving or exploring Grand Cayman.
Families often appreciate the additional space, but Ocean View Apartments are equally popular with divers planning week-long trips who want accommodation that feels a little more like home. Our apartments also join onto our Ocean View Rooms if you want to connect with even more people in your group during your stay, but more on them below.

Ocean View Suites at Sunset House: Extra Space for a Special Stay
Our two Ocean View Suites strike an appealing balance between comfort and practicality. With generous living space and private outdoor areas overlooking the water, these suites offer a little more room to unwind between dives. They’re particularly well-suited to couples celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, birthday, or simply treating themselves to a more spacious stay.
Our suites include everything that you’ll find in our Ocean View Rooms, but with an additional dining and seating area. They both have two queen beds, adding an extra touch of luxury to your stay.
After exploring underwater wonders, having a separate sitting area to relax, read, or enjoy the sea views can make your vacation feel that bit more special. For travelers who want additional comfort without stepping up to apartment-style accommodations, the Ocean View Suites are an excellent choice.

Ocean View Rooms at Sunset House: The Classic Experience
For many guests, our Ocean View Rooms represent the perfect middle ground. These rooms provide the experience many people imagine when booking a Caribbean vacation: waking up to views of the sea, enjoying your morning coffee from a private patio or balcony, and remaining just steps away from diving, dining, and the waterfront.
Ocean View Rooms work particularly well for couples, dive buddies, and first-time visitors to the island. They deliver comfort and convenience while maintaining easy access to everything that makes Sunset House unique. And if you’re already thinking about the beds, you can choose between two king or queen beds, depending on your needs.
If you’re looking for dependable, comfortable dive resort accommodation in Grand Cayman, this is often the room category guests return to again and again.

Courtyard Rooms at Sunset House: Comfortable and Great Value
Choosing a Courtyard Room doesn’t mean compromising on your Grand Cayman experience.
These rooms overlook our resort’s landscaped courtyard while offering the same access to Sunset House’s facilities, restaurants, and dive operations. They’re particularly popular with guests who plan to spend most of their vacation underwater, exploring our island, or enjoying activities rather than relaxing in their room.
For budget-conscious travelers, Courtyard Rooms provide a practical and comfortable option that allows you to allocate more of your vacation budget toward dives, excursions, and experiences.
If your priority is maximizing time in the water, they make a lot of sense.

Which Room at Sunset House is Right for You?
If diving is the main focus of your trip, Ocean View Rooms and Courtyard Rooms are both excellent choices. They provide everything you need while keeping you close to Sunset Reef and our on-site dive shop. Guests staying for a week or more often appreciate the additional space and kitchen facilities available in the Ocean View Apartments, especially when traveling as a family or group.
If you’re celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or special occasion, the Ocean View Suites provide a little extra room and privacy without losing the relaxed atmosphere Sunset House is known for. Meanwhile, Ocean View Rooms remain the option many visitors choose because they offer a fantastic balance between comfort, ocean views, and value.
When deciding where to stay in Grand Cayman, thinking about how you’ll spend your days can help narrow down the right choice.

What Every Sunset House Guest Can Enjoy
No matter which room category you choose, every guest enjoys access to the experiences that define Sunset House. The on-site dive team can help arrange everything from beginner experiences to trips to iconic sites such as the USS Kittiwake.
And no matter which type of accommodation you choose, you can expect:
- Free Wi-Fi
