Rob Hopwood

Rob Hopwood had a fortunate introduction to scuba diving. He dipped the inaugural toe in St Lucia in 1991 and that date changed his life forever. A year later he moved from St Lucia to Grand Cayman and became an Instructor. After spending many hours underwater learning the dive sites Rob quickly became a qualified Boat Captain and combined these roles for 3 years. His passion for all things nautical continued and he moved onto our sister company at Harbour House Marina where he learned the craft of the shipwright. With his ever increasing skill set Rob moved onto super-yachts working in yards in France and Italy and finally returned to the U.K, now, very experienced in commercial marine applications.

In September 2005 Rob returned! After becoming acclimatized to our fleet of boats he began running trips as if he’d never been away. He even remembered the majority of the dive sites. Rob brings to Sunset Divers a wealth of experience and enthusiasm, always willing to go that extra mile to help the guests and make their stay a memorable one. Sunset Divers is indeed, fortunate, to have Rob on staff.

When Rob is not working he enjoys underwater photography, sailing, wind-surfing and long walks on the beach! Rob is single and a Pisces!
